Lucasfilm has announced their first ever stand-alone Star Wars Anthology film, with Nissan as one of it's sponsors. Much like Fiat Chrysler did for the 2015 Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens film, Nissan is developing an extensive promotional campaign featuring the Nissan Rogue® CUV. If it is anything like the campaign led by Fiat Chrysler, (which included entertaining commercials, and exclusive Star Wars themed Chargers, Challengers, and Vipers), we are in for a big treat. Stay tuned for more updates.

It is important for our police force to drive vehicles that are safe, robust, and reliable, in order to quickly and safely respond to emergencies and better protect their citizens. Ford has been serving the law enforcement community for more than 65 years, and continues to do so in groundbreaking ways. In 2012, Ford phased out it’s iconic rear-wheel drive Crown Victoria to make way for their new line of purpose built sedan and utility interceptors. The new vehicles made history as the first police vehicles to come standard with all-wheel drive, but that’s not the only thing they’re famous for. Both versions offer some incredible safety and performance features, including a “Police-Tuned Suspension”, Ford’s patented Safety CanopyⓇ system, and even optional bullet-proof doors. The safety and security of the officer is at the heart of Ford’s design, which is why both interceptor models are rear-crash tested to withstand a 75-mph impact. These revolutionary features have really set Ford apart from its competitors; and people have noticed. Since the introduction of the Ford Police Interceptor Utility in 2012, it has overtaken the market, currently making up 55% of police vehicles on the road today. The line has only improved since then. Both models come standard with a 3.7L V6 that produces 305 horsepower. There is an available twin-turbo 3.5L EcoBoost V6, which provides an exhilarating 365 horsepower, without sacrificing fuel economy. In other words, the majority of interceptors on the road today are faster and safer than ever before, turning the tables on an age old saying; you can hide, but you can’t run.

Ah, August; the heart of summer. Hot, humid weather, and with it, a perfect excuse to take time off work and plan a road trip. But, before you hit the road, there are a few things you should do to prepare yourself, and your car. First, check your car’s basics, like tire pressure, and oil. If you’re handy with cars, you can probably do this at home, however, bringing your car in to a mechanic to be serviced is also a wise choice. In addition to checking the items listed above, a professional can check your other important fluids, such as transmission, brakes, power steering, and coolant. On top of these, our technicians can cross-reference the cars scheduled maintenance with the length of your trip, to plan a proactive approach and prevent issues while you’re on the road.
Many people think that once they’ve packed personal items like clothes and toiletries they are ready to go, however, there are other precautionary measures you should take. You should always pack snacks, water, medication, a First Aid Kit, and an emergency road kit, which may include flares, a blanket, and tools to change your tire in the event of a flat. Though no one likes to think about negative circumstances, it pays to be prepared.
Now that you’ve prepared your car, and packed personal and emergency items, you may be excited to start your road-trip, but there’s still one thing left. With the spontaneous nature of a road trip, people often forget to make reservations. So, whether you’re headed to a camp ground, a five-star hotel, or anywhere in between, you should always call ahead. No matter how much we love our car, no one wants to sleep in it, (unless you’re driving an RV, of course).

On May 7th, 2016 Crowley Ford Lincoln held a Driven to Give fundraiser at Southington High School to raise money for Southington High Schools FIRST Robotics team, the Cyber Knights. This fundraiser allowed people from the community to take quick, hassle free test drives in brand new Lincoln vehicles at the school. The best part? For each test drive taken, Lincoln donates $20 to the team on behalf of the test driver. Thanks to a large turnout from a supportive community the team raised $5,920! This money will help to ease the financial strain of running a robotics team. Funds can be used for competition registration fees, travel, building materials and tee shirts to name a few.
Crowley is very proud of their partnership with the Cyber Knights who just came off a super successful season which culminated in them making it to the FIRST World Championship in St. Louis, MO. Keep making us proud!
